Fit: Oh yeah, the great outdoors! All we need is a can of beans, and we'll have a good time.
Phil: There's two empty seats, I can't remember what– who they're for though. [Snorts then leans off-screen and laughs]
Fit: [Slowly realizes what Phil said] ...No. No. No. No! No! NO! WE ARE NOT DOING THIS RIGHT NOW! WE ARE NOT DOING THIS, PHIL. Ok? We are not doing this.
Sneeg: Do you wanna talk about it...?
Phil: [Continues laughing]
Fit: No man, this- this man thinks trauma is funny. He thinks trauma is funny– He thinks interpersonal emotional trauma is funny! Yeah, we're all laughing, Phil. We're all laughing. Yeah– [Monotone voice] "Hahaha! So funny." So funny. So funny.
Sneeg: Alright, bro. Why don't you go–
Fit: Gaslight girlboss, right? Yeah, that's what we do, that's what we do.
Phil: Oh my god– [Exhales and laughs] That tickled me, that was a good one. Uh, right–

If I see one more post painting Batman as the violent one that beat up poor people and Red Hood as the one stopping him, I'm going to lose it, I swear. Like, Jason kills people, he is the most violent one of the two just for doing that, but also, CANONICALLY, Bruce gives second chances to people, giving jobs in his company to ex-felons, will take off the mask if he recognizes people who are doing crimes as people WE is financially helping to go ask them as Bruce if they need more money, helps people who did crimes because they needed money to survive... I'm tired of y'all erasing Bruce's character to uplift Jason.
#batman#bruce wayne#jason todd#red hood#batfam#dc comics#my ramblings#the clowns that love to point out Batman's violence to argue as if Red Hood doesn’t do the same thing + kill people tire me out#Bruce *adopts the kid that stole from him* the fandom: Bruce beats up poor people that steal to survive!#You are inventing shit to make your boy look better and I hate it so much#let me be clear I do not dislike Jason#l dislike how y'all are diminishing other characters' good deeds or pain to make him look better#Bruce pays for the college tuition of the majority of students there student debts don't exist in Gotham he's doing more than the president

Something that I think is frequently lost in character analysis of Clown is that in spite of the popular idea that he is some sort of agent of chaos, he actually has a very rigid code of ethics that he adheres to that informs his actions and interactions with others.
First, consider that Clown held no feelings of animosity towards Pangi for eating the Kingdom's honey. He laughed about it and called Pangi a rascal for it, but he wasn't angry. To him, punishing Pangi was nothing personal, it was just a necessary consequence for his actions against the Kingdom. Consider his warning to Foolish about Owen when Owen killed Tommy. Consider his execution of Slimecicle. Owen killed Tommy out of turn, without orders from his king. But Clown executed Slime because he broke a decree by the king. This, more than his rivalry with Owen, is why he was so angry when Tubbo wanted to punish him but not Owen. They both broke Tubbo's rules, but Owen broke Clown's rules too.
Clown does not hate Pili. He told Pili that he was proud of him, that he missed him while he was gone. They weren't friends, but they weren't enemies, either. The only thing that could actually provoke Clown into fighting Pili was threats against Ros. Harming Ros requires punishment. An eye for an eye. Notice how many times during their duel that Clown stopped attacking Pili because it appeared he was having tech issues. He stopped attacking when Pili started to monologue. He did this because a fair fight is part of his ethics, but also because killing Pili was a duty that must be performed to achieve justice for his wrong. Just as any satisfaction Pangi got for his actions was irrelevant, just as Owen being an ally was irrelevant, whatever Pili got out of it was irrelevant to him. If Pili wants to have last words uninterrupted, let him. He didn't want to kill Pili, he had to.
Pili saw Clown's acknowledgement as his ticket to being respected, to being cared about, even if it's because he's a villain. And sure, people showed up, but just look at how they engaged with the fight. They made jokes. They were dismissive. Sneeg played a game of Balatro instead of paying attention. Scott changed his music away from epic battle themes to his regular music. People contemplated leaving and coming back later. It was a spectacle to gawk at for a few minutes and forget about later. They picked at his corpse for loot the second he dropped, even his own teammates. Nobody respects Pili any more for picking a fight with Clown. He died for nothing. It's almost symbolic that Pili deafened during the fight and didn't hear any of this occurring. He was so deeply entrenched in his beliefs that he was in denial of the truth even as it unfolded around him.
The things Pili wanted from Clown he already got from Pangi, and I think Clown saw that. Pangi loved and respected Pili, he was Pangi's entire world. He was the most important person on the server, his top priority. He was hurt when Pili talked about how badly he wanted to get Clown's attention. Pili's singleminded focus on Clown made him blind to that, but Clown wasn't. Clown understands intimately what a precarious position he occupies as "deadliest player" and that's not something he wishes on anyone. Being on top makes you a target not just of your enemies, but your allies too (just listen to the way Sneeg boasts that he can kill Clown if he really wanted to). He's got plenty of experience with that from Lifesteal. Pili doesn't. Clown didn't want to entertain Pili's flight of fancy that fighting him would solve all his problems. Clown's victory was hollow, but not because Pili got what he wanted.
#callioposte#the realm smp#trsmp#pili dtowncat#clownpierce#don't get it twisted clown was absolutely furious with pili for killing ros#and he wanted to kill pili for that reason#but it was more that pili dared to exploit clown's nature in pursuit of a goal that fighting clown would not achieve#than because winning is the most important thing in the world to him#(he is gracious when he loses fights yall)

people who entirely blame jack for what happened with will didn't watch the same show. as the audience, we see that will isn't sleeping, and that hannibal lied about his stability, and will's blackouts and sleepwalking. we are an outside observer privy to information other characters don't see. jack only knows what is told to him, he can't read minds. he can't know how bad will is doing if will doesn't tell him. he trusts will is a grown adult who will take care of himself. a socially and professionally trusted and admired medical professional tells jack that will is fine! what reason does jack have to not believe that will is capable to not only do his job but make the sound decision to stay or go. why is jack the bad guy here?
and regarding will getting arrested, ALL the evidence was against him. he had no memory and no alibi for the murders he was being convicted of. he was at sutcliffe's office when he was murdered, after hours, when no one else (supposedly) was there. he was the last person to see georgia alive. he knew he went to minnesota with abigail and came back without her, no memory of leaving but the hallucination of having killed her. he threw up her ear. flesh and bone and hair of every victim was woven into his lures, a hobby that everyone knew he had. what exactly was jack supposed to think? was he supposed to ignore evidence? it would be against all logic and common sense to just assume will was innocent. even will doubted his own innocence. ofc we, the audience, knew he wasn't guilty, but jack can't see what we see. he even risked his career, against his better judgment, to help will. he had no reason to, but he cares about will. he cares about him a lot, and a lot more than people give him credit for.
jack cared about will deeply, saw him as a friend, for the entire show. giving him the benefit of the doubt up until the very end. the confidence he has that will is a good and trustworthy person in the last episode gets him mocked for "not seeing will as he truly was" but when he assumes will is a killer in s1 people also get mad at him for not having *enough* confidence in will. which is it?
jack is a good agent, a good friend, and did what he could given the tools he had to do his job. he can't help people who refuse his help (aka will), he can only try so much.
and hannibal is a master manipulator. he played every single character on that show and had them convinced he was normal and safe, sometimes for years. every single person who outright blames jack for everything got as manipulated by hannibal as jack did! because hannibal planted distrust between will and jack, and with the audience and jack. if you think jack is the problem, congratulations, you got played by the villain of the show.
#jack crawford#will graham#hannibal lecter#hannibal#hannibal nbc#nbc hannibal#had this drafted since july lmao#the speaking clown#this is a pro jack blog#and before anyone makes acab jokes. maybe don't compare a fictional character to irl cops that systematically harm and kill innocent people#in real life and do so repeatedly and brutally and get away with it on paid leave#the scene where freddie lounds gets roughly handcuffed and mandhandled IS inappropriate but DOES NOT compare to#the heinous acts of real life cops

I'm not sure if I told you guys about the time I dreamed that 20ish Jason Todd died yet again and Death was pissed off because "really? Again? Wtf Batman. The universe doesn't keep reviving your son just so you can see how much he lasts!" And "He has a work to do you know?!". Besides, she's fond of the bright young soul.
So, she calls her uncle to help him. And what you know? Her uncle is the God of Death (because yes, my brain is like that sometimes). They sit to talk and come up with a solution.
First, taking advantage of the effects still present of the last time-space crisis and the spirits protecting the soul, they regress the time of this universe to when Jay had just left All Caste, way before he had came back to Gotham.
Then, Death places Red Hood!Jason's memories on the soul of his younger self. Not too harsh to force his soul to crack, but not too light to let them fall. Just deep enough so he finds them when he meditates.
And by last, God of Death tells the spirits where they should guide the boy to. The perfect place for him.
Where is the best place for a soul who craves for home and safety? Of course, that's with someone who has the heart to care and accept a new loved one and the determination to protect them.
That's how Jason Todd, teenage assassin in an existential crisis, ends up waking up in the softest bed he has ever been in some foreign country. At his side there's a redhead teen sitting in a sofa, a book in his hands and other boy— this one with black hair and pajamas— lying on his lap.
The redhead— Cale, as he presents himself— is mysterious but kind hearted guy. He also knows things. So much so that if he weren't as he is, Jason would suspect. As things are, he knows he's just used to collect information. A bit like a bat, but not quite. A bat would plan how to use it against the possible enemy. Cale? Well, he doesn't even bother to hide what he realized about him. He's also ridiculously casual about it.
Who offers an assassin if they want their hidden weapons back? This guy, apparently.
Jason only knows he's not totally unconscious because at one point an old guy entered with tea and pastries for the three and Cale, the little shit, choose that moment to reassure Jason.
"Don't worry. My butler is an assassin too and we don't treat him different for it."
The old geezer almost let got the porcelain teapot to the floor. Though, points for him for recovering so fast.
"Young master? May this Ron know who you would be talking about?"
"Hm? Who do you think? Hans? The only thing he can kill is Rok Soo's humor. It's you, obviously."
"..."
Rok Soo, the sleeping beauty complex guy pretending to be asleep on Cale's lap, was sweating badly. If everyone in the room weren't already aware he was clearly pretending, someone may had thought he was ill.
Later on, he realizes there was a reason Cale had said that at that moment.
He's looking at the butler subtly terrorize the boys to behave, treating the siblings like two particularly mischievous puppies. Then he turns around and uses the same tune to advise him to be careful with his wounds. And that's when he thinks 'Oh. He doesn't see me as a menace'.
Of course he doesn't. His employer just confirmed he's aware of his identity— at least partially— and his own nature. The biggest advantage of an assassin is their secrecy. After their identity is exposed, the only reason they won't attack is if the assassin believes the risk is worthy. Telling the assassin he knows he's an assassin was his way to show Jason's own intentions: none.
Jason didn't intend to end up in that field where these teens find him. He didn't intend to be brought in their vacation house. He definitely didn't plan that the people to found him passed out would be whoever these rich guys were.
But he didn't have anything against all of this either.
Well, maybe the wound. He could make it without the blood loose and the soon-to-be scar to add to his collection.
Either way, at least he had a safe place to stay and think. Just think. Because, the memories he saw— what is he supposed to do now that he has his answer?
His da— Bruce. Bruce didn't care for him as much as Jason does for Bruce. Bruce obviously didn't love him as he thought. And certainly, Bruce was way more willingly to harm him than he believed.
And Jason— well, Jason couldn't waste a second life on a man who didn't put hin even at the same level than the Joker of all people. But maybe his expectatives were too high? He hadn't planned what to do if his life was meaningless to him.
So, Jason needed time. Time to ponder and heal. Those things are better done in a safe place.
That's what Jason has in mind when Cale offers him to stay with them.

No because I'm sick and tired of DC spending years profiting from abuse and domestic violence towards Harley from joker and now acting like never happened, or he was just a "shitty boyfriend" who "told her music was trash" and "unappreciated her".
Joker was an abuser, in every sense of the world.
And not only with Harley, this isn't a "product of it's time" or "some bad interpretations" like Daredevil and Batman this is literally his ENTIRE character over the last forty years. It's a fucking pattern and a consistent one.
DC made him that way, over and over again. And now that they noticed that this isn't something to be pride upon not even if it's edge they're losing their balls and backing away from it to make him seem more sympathetic.
And I don't fuck with that. I don't care if they make him a communist in a silly TV show. I don't fucking care if they get Lady Gaga and Phoenix to play them as a couple and I don't give a fuck if it's Oscar worthy.
Joker is a garbage of a person and his relationship with Harley shouldn't be erased like that now they're icky about it, own your fucking choices and portray it like it.
That being said I want Harley to chop his head off in the movie.
#If Harley or Batman isn't beating the shit of that clown I don't want it#stop trying to redeem the Joker challenge#'oh he is a product of society 🥺🥺' maam your product of society keeps repeatedly beating women killing and torturing children#listen I know there versions of hom that can be sympathetic but you gotta choose a lane darleen#can believe we have to ask people to just let the VILLAIN be bat at this point in media#puss in boots had more balls#joker slander#q rants

Red Hood Characterization
This is really long so I'm putting a cut here, I've been thinking about Jason Todd's character motivations and the question of whether or not his actions are based in a Moral Code (I don't think so, not to say he's without any morality) and I talk about that in more depth here.
I saw someone say on here that Titans: Beast World: Gotham City was some of the best Jason Todd internal writing they'd seen in a while, and I've been a Red Hood fan for 8 years or so now? pretty much since I read comics for the first time, so I went and checked out and I thought it was good! The way the person I saw talking about it as if it was rare and unusual made me wonder though, because as well-written as i thought his stances on crime were, there wasn't really anything in it that went against the way I conceptualize Jason?
This kinda plays into a larger question I've been thinking about for a while with Jason though, which is that, do people think that the killing is part of a fundamental worldview that motivates him a la batman, and that worldview is the reason he does the things he does?? Because 8 years ago i was a middle schooler engaging with fiction on the level that a middle schooler does, so I simply did not put much thought into it beyond "poor guy :(" but ever since I actually started trying to understand consistent characterization, I don't really see Jason as someone who's motivated by a moral code in his actions the way batman or superman is!
tbh my personal read is that he's a very socially-motivated guy, his actions from resurrection to his Joker-Batman ultimatum in utrh always seemed to me like every choice made leading up to his identity reveal was either a. to give him the leverage and skill necessary to pull off his identity reveal successfully, or b. to twist the knife that little bit more when he does let Bruce find out who he is. Like iirc there's a Judd Winick tweet like "yeah tldr he chose Red Hood as his identity because it's the lowest blow he could think of." And I think that's awesome, I think character motivations rooted so deeply in character's relationships and emotions are really fun to read! I also think it's where the stagnation/flatness of his character comes from in certain comics, because if his main motivation is one event in one relationship that passes, and he is not particularly attached to anything in his life or the world by the time that comes to pass, it's a little harder to come up with a direction to go with the character after that, because there isn't much of a direction that aligns with something the character would reasonably want? But I do think solving this by saying "all of the morally-off emotionally driven cruelty he did on his way to spite Batman was actually reflective of his own version of Batman's stance that's exactly the same except he thinks it's GOOD to kill people" isn't ideal. To be fully honest, it seems to me like he never particularly cared one way or the other about killing people to "clean Gotham of crime," he just did everything he could to get the power necessary to pull off his personal plans, and took out any particularly heinous people he encountered along the way (like in Lost Days.) Not to say I think the fact he killed people keeps him up at night anymore than everything else in his life events, I just never really thought he was out there wholeheartedly kneecapping some dude selling weed or random guy robbing a tv store for justice.
Looping wayyy back to my question, Is this (^) contradictory to the way he's written/the overall average perception of the character? Because like I enjoyed his writing in Beast World i have zero significant issue with anything there, I just didn't believe it would be a hot take, like yeah, that is Jason. It's been a while since I've read utrh and lost days, but I don't think my takeaway directly contradicts either of those too bad iirc. Idk all this to say I think Jason killing and being alright with killing is an obvious and objective fact, but i guess i've always seen it as more of a practical tactic than a moral belief, and I think taking the actions made during the lowest points of a character's life where he is obsessively focused on this ONEEEE thing and trying to apply it as a Motivating Stance to everything he's done after that, doesn't really follow logically for me.
#edit: i am so so open to discussion and disagreement on this but please try to have something substantial to say. god bless!#like ofc jason kills but to me it was less “everyone I've ever killed deserves death objectively”#and more “when people are dead they stop doing things like heinous atrocities and trying to kill me"#i don't even think he wanted the joker dead (only) because he thinks he objectively morally deserves death#although the joker is one of the most extreme cases possible and he if does think that he's VERY justified#i really do think it was just about bruce#and wanting bruce to avenge him to show he loved him and he mattered and wanting his dad to give him security#all the killing was about the clown and everything with the clown was about bruce#i've NEVER forgotten the bit in lost days where he has the joker tied up at gunpoint and doesn't kill him#i think if it was only about a moral greater good situation he would have taken him out then and there#if you disagree i'd love to hear why provided you can be civil and not an jerk#also if you disagree PLEASE PLEASE put screenshots and comic issues if possible#i'd love to check them out and form my own stance on them#just know that if you say like. battle for the cowl. or the Tom King batman annual or something i probably won't care too much#comic characterization is ever-changing and inconsistent i truly believe that the best thing to do is just read the important stuff#and try to form your own stances from there#because there's never gonna be 100% of comics involving a character that align with each other perfectly and that's just a given#jason todd#red hood#dc comics

I don't usually do this but I just got a follow from what is pretty transparently a troll blog posting intentionally incendiary shit under the thin veil of OnK fandom posting as pertains to Hikaru and his CSA experience. I really recommend just blocking the blog ASAP as they already reblogged a few of my posts with some quite frankly fucking insane additions that would have been extremely triggering to me if I was sensitive to discussions of CSA. Similarly, if you are at all sensitive to people discussing even fictional CSA in a tasteless and eroticized manner, I do not recommend looking at their blog at all and just blocking asap.
Blog name is behind the readmore. This is not a call out post, don't harass this person or send them hate or any other dumb shit like that, I just think this is a transparently bad faith and hostile way to conduct oneself and don't want anyone to be upset or triggered by their acting like a clown.
Blog name is hikarusmommy. I'm not sure if you can block someone w/o navigating to their blog page, so stay safe in case they post any more of this transparently inflammatory cringe.
#oshi no ko#if you guys turn this into a call out or start harassing this person i will be killing all of us btw#i just don't want anyone getting jumpscared by this clown cheering about csa on their posts

People who dislike Ashley are incapable of being normal about it. They attach to her whatever lingo that was meant to signify a problem in the world but has been whittled down to "woman I don't like,". They claim she would be involved for various tumultuous current events because that's a normal thing to do. They blame her for Wrex's death, which is the easiest thing in the world to prevent. You can't post a screenshot without someone talking about their fantasies about killing her. At this point any flaws the character actually has pale in comparison. This character grows more in a 30-50 hours game than actual people have in 10+ years.
#Mass Effect#Ashley Williams#Either this flops#Or it will get popular enough#To get some 'Well *I* hate her because -- I don't fucking care let me stop you right there#I really can't overstate how wild it is#I don't even want to look for anything Mass Effect related unless someone gives me the green light first#Because people just HAVE to tell you she's the worst or they always kill her#Utter clown behavior
